Mission Statement

SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD 
LIBRARY/MEDIA MISSION STATEMENT     

Since libraries are the portal to information and learning, the Media Centers of Scotch Plains-Fanwood School District empower students to become independent and effective users of information, critical thinkers, lifelong learners and engaged readers. We accomplish these goals by:
  • promoting a diverse collection of both curriculum-linked and personal-interest materials to students & staff
  • working in collaborative partnerships to meet individual needs
  • providing access to a variety of resources - print and digital 
  • creating a safe, supportive and inviting environment that fosters learning and sharing.
