High School Commencement ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24. The graduation ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. on June 24, with a rain date of June 25, also at 9:30 a.m. It’s expected to be completed no later than 11 a.m. While it is the district’s final day of school, the ceremony will take place while schools are in session, thereby minimizing traffic. District staff members with graduating children and students with graduating siblings will be excused to attend the ceremony. Parking will be available in designated lots and on the street. As with last year, shuttle service will also be provided. There is plenty of time to review all of our spring plans for graduating seniors. Please reach out with any questions.
Senior Dues and Fundraising
Senior Dues help support senior-year activities and events. Many families have already contributed - thank you. We understand that timing can look different for everyone. If you have not yet had the opportunity to participate, information on how to submit dues is provided below.
There are two options to pay the Class of 2026 Senior Dues:
- The first option, which we strongly encourage you to use, is to process your dues via Givebacks. It’s quick, easy, and helps us keep everything organized digitally.
- The second option is pay by check. You may send in a check payable to “SPFHS PTA” for $50 (or more if you are so inclined) placed in a sealed envelope labeled: PTA Class of 2026 (Please write “Seniors” and your child’s full name in the memo line on the check.) Checks should be dropped off at the main office.
Families who are able and interested may also choose to include an additional contribution to help support classmates whose families may be facing financial hardship. Any support is optional and greatly appreciated.
Fundraising Opportunities:
Information about upcoming fundraising opportunities for the Class of 2026 will be shared here as it becomes available.
For questions related to fundraising or volunteer opportunities please contact SPFHS2026@gmail.com
Additional dates and details will be added as they become available. This page will be updated throughout the year, so please check back regularly. You can also follow our Class of 2026 Instagram and Facebook page for reminders.
Graduate Sign
We are excited to share amazing news regarding senior yard signs! Normandy Studios has generously offered the following to the SPFHS Class of 2026:
- Paul Tighe of Normandy Studios will be covering the cost of all yard signs for students who have purchased senior portrait packages. Paul is an SPFHS alum (class of 1978), and he is making this donation in the memory of Mr. Donald Cababe, out of appreciation for all that Mr. Cababe has done for him. Mr. Cababe taught at SPFHS for his entire 32-year career, and was the DECA advisor during Paul's time here. Mr. Cababe introduced Paul to photography and encouraged him to start his own business.
- For seniors who do not purchase photo packages, the PTA will still cover the cost of the signs.
This generous contribution helps reduce costs for the Class of 2026 Senior Committee Budget!
Senior Project
Commemorative Brick for the Graduates
Why not leave a permanent footprint at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in honor of your graduating senior? It’s a wonderful, meaningful gift and one that will be cherished for years. Purchasing a brick not only celebrates your senior’s commencement, but all profits from the sale of bricks go to the Alumni Association’s Annual Scholarship Fund.
View or download the Brick Order Form.
Visit the SPF Alumni Association webpage for more details.
Voter Registration
Parking
Senior students are eligible for parking in the high school student lot, on Cedar Street, in Green Forest Park and assigned spots on streets around the school. Parking permits will be issued to senior students who live 1+ miles from the high school campus through a lottery system.
Students who live less than 1 mile from the campus are not eligible for a parking permit at this time.
It is imperative that any 12th grade student planning to drive to school procure a parking permit before the start of school. Permit applications are available through the Attendance Office and can be downloaded here.
Important information:
Students are able to return registration forms now through Tuesday, August 19th to be included in the lottery.
Applications returned after August 19th will be first come first served.
Students must provide a copy of their valid NJ State driver’s license, and a copy of the vehicle registration card for any car they might be driving when returning their Motor Vehicle Registration Form.
Motor Vehicle Registration Forms need to be returned signed. It is the student’s responsibility to be familiar and follow all school driving and parking regulations as detailed on the form.
A DMV learner’s permit does not qualify as a valid NJ driver’s license.
A lottery system will be used to determine the parking location for each student that completes a registration form. Families with multiple senior drivers per household will only be allowed one spot in the senior lot. Other drivers that need spots will be accommodated in other parking areas.
Completed Registrations forms, along with copies of the NJ Driver’s License and vehicle registration can be: dropped off to the blue box outside of Door #1-front of the building or emailed to spfseniorparking@spfk12.org (please only return it one way)
