District plans to gradually return fifth grade to elementary schools, starting with Brunner Elementary School in the 2026-2027 school year

Three Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School student-athletes have signed Letters of Intent with colleges and universities. We are so proud of their academic and athletic accomplishments!

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools is excited to develop a new Strategic Plan to set goals for the next three to five years. As part of this process, the district is soliciting feedback through a community survey to gather data, ideas, and perspectives from residents.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools has begun the bid process and completed the first sale of bonds for the projects approved by voters in January 2025. With construction beginning this fall, the district is on track to open La Grande Elementary School to pre-kindergarten students for the 2026-2027 school year and to complete district-wide upgrades to fire alarms, electrical, and HVAC by fall 2026 and fall 2027.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School is proud to present a unique theatrical event this fall: Metamorphoses by Mary Zimmerman. A Tony Award–winning play, Metamorphoses reimagines Greek myths, such as “Orpheus and Eurydice” and “King Midas,” through poetic storytelling and stunning visual design. Seven Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School students have been named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. The students are Annie Ricca, Emma Telpis, Garet Su, Isabella Mirenda, Joseph Lambert, Karoly Jakab, and Venny Ebrahim. 

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Marisa Stefani as the new Director of Special Services, effective Tuesday, July 1. 

From high-fives to happy tears, the first-ever Senior Clap Out on Friday, June 13 brought joy, nostalgia and community spirit across Scotch Plains-Fanwood Public Schools. The graduating seniors of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School (SPFHS) proudly returned to their elementary schools, where they were welcomed and cheered on by students, teachers and staff.
